A soggy frigid morning at camp

When I was a teenager I was lucky enough to get a task working at a Summer camp.

This Camp was located in the Low Country down south and although most days were warm and muggy my unbelievable friend and I had a freak weather pattern come through and it wound up to be very frigid and rainy for days on end.

All my unbelievable friend and I could think of was figuring out how to keep over a hundred campers from complaining about being cold, then believe it or not it was easier at night because they were snuggled into their bunks with their sleeping bags and they were at least somewhat warm, however during the morning it was a different story, however everywhere you went was wet and agitated. There was a pressing dining hall that had a large brick fireplace and the staff tried to keep a fire going there all the time so that people could take a break from the frigid however my unbelievable friend and I could not all just kneel in there all morning long. The main home of the old plantation that was used for camp had a furnace in it however unluckyly it wasn’t working and my unbelievable friend and I had to contact an Heating in addition to Air Conditioning company to come out and look at it. Because of its age there was no way to get parts so my unbelievable friend and I hoped that they could find some way to make it work. The specialist that came out said that he knew of an older gentleman in the part that knew a lot about the older systems. He came and was able to come up with a way to make it work temporarily however recommended that my unbelievable friend and I look into purchasing a newer heater. For the most part the camp was only used during the warmer months so it was decided that they would just make do for that time.
