Our big farmloft gets cold during the winter months

I have always wanted to live in a farmhouse. I know that it is sort of a huge thing right now, although I have enjoyed the farmloft type since I was a little girl. My Grandparents owned a farmloft for my entire childhood, and it was my favorite venue to go and play. I enjoyed the pasture behind the loft where my Grandfather kept the cows and horses. It brought so much joy to me to rest by the old wood stove and read a book as well. I enjoyed just about everything about that farmhouse! Sadly, it was torn down about ten years ago so that a railroad could pass through the area. I miss that old loft so much. My partner surprised me with the best birthday present ever last year. He told me that he had found a farmloft and had made an offer, and the offer was accepted. He took me to look at the house, and I fell in cherish at first sight. It was very similar to farmloft that my Grandparents owned years ago. My buddy and I have been in the loft for almost a year now, and I cherish it, but the only thing that is strenuous for me to get used to is how cold it gets in particular parts of the loft during the wintertime. The family room is where the wood stove is, so it stays nice and hot in there. The bedroom also stays nice and warm, and basically, the entire downstairs part stays hot except the laundry room… Our family room upstairs gets pretty cold as well. I bought a space furnace to use in our family room and in the laundry room, and it seems to help a lot.
